Bob’s back from his trip to 2014, and oh the wonders he’s seen – games that not only were amazing back then, but somehow we’re still talking about today! The counterpoint to our draft of games to last a decade, we’re arguing about the games from ten years ago that are still relevant – BGBBOB style. Before we yearn for our youth, we talk about Cyberion, The Plum Island Horror, and Marabunta.
The draft is back, and while the lists are getting really thin at this point, that’s not going to stop us doing our damndest to pick out a killer selection of five games each. Whose is the best? Looking back on the past made us all reflective. For instance, remember 166 episodes ago when we promised to play all those games on our shelves of shame? I thought you might. Now that we’ve got this train going, there’s no stopping it.
Slow and steady might win the race, but it doesn’t make for an exciting board game. Pacing is a vital component of most entertainment mediums that doesn’t often get applied to board games, so we’re going to climb and climb and climb and climb … and then rapidly descend down the roller-coaster of emotion that makes for some of our favourite games.
