We made it! We’ve arrived at last at the final ten games, in fact, our TOP TEN favourite games of all time. Thanks for joining us again on this yearly pilgrimage, as always it’s the journey that’s the important thing – but that’s not to say that there isn’t some exciting moving and shaking to happen at the destination. That said, it’s time to pass out on the couch.
It’s tiiiiiiime! It’s the top fifty! That’s right, the much anticipated, much celebrated, much imitated (we definitely did it first) event of the season is here. We’re counting down each of our favourite fifty games of all time! Or at least, for right now! It’s a beautiful, beautiful thing, and we’d love if you pulled up a chair and joined us for it.
Here it is, the one we’ve all been waiting for, the Board Game Barrage top ten games of all time! It’s been a long road and we’ll wrap it up by seeing some old favourites … and maybe a few new faces? Old or new, these are the thirty games we enjoy the most (at least, right now.) We loved sharing these lists with you and hope you’ve enjoyed listening to them!
It’s easy to get lost in mechanical discussions of games, and forget to appreciate them as physical creations. There can be beauty in games, and we’re here to get to the heart of it the only way we know, the one on one fight to the death that we call BGBBOB. We’re coming up with our big board game compromises, the things we’d happily trade away to fix some of our biggest frustrations. We take a look at this trend, and discuss some re-imaginings our favourite board games, whether it’s a full on new version, or just a new coat of paint. Some games put their best foot forward on the first play, eager to have most players feel good right out of the box. Other games are content to take their time. This episode we’re focusing on the latter, games that we’ve only come to appreciate as we’ve given them more time and more plays.
