The [[Targi]] tournament on [[Board Game Arena]] was notable in that many of the games timed out. Also, several players decided they didn't enjoy playing the game asynchronously online. There were several factors at play:

* The tournament had a maximum game duration of 2 days (it was later changed mid-tournament to 7 days) which was the shortest max game duration for a BGB tournament to that point.
* The start date was during Memorial Day weekend when players are typically less active.
* [[Targi]] is a two player game so one of the two players' clocks is always running.
* [[Targi]] is designed for quick, back-and-forth play during the meeple placement phase, but this gets drawn out when playing asynchronously.

The incident led to the creation of [[Tournament Guidelines and Etiquette]].
